During this visit, Honorable IRERE was with Rwanda Polytechnic's Vice Chancellor Dr. James GASHUMBA, Mayor of Nyamagabe Mr. Hildebrand NIYOMWUNGERI and other different staff.

The guests were received by Principal Richard NASASIRA who presented them the college profile especially the college's future projects like a college complex, gymnasium, Wood Innovation Center,  and IPRC Kitabi’s need to be a center of excellence in Tourism studies with an Eco-Tourism Center.

Principal Richard highlighted the challenges that the college has including limited budget, limited classrooms, no workshop, no laboratories, limited office space, limited students’ recreational facilities, limited students’ hostels, no land for forestry establishment, limited staff capacity building, limited number of staff, limited ICT infrastructures and tools, and he did make requests to the Ministry of education for advocacy and some of these requests were regarding the Nyamagabe district authority.

RP's Vice Chancellor Dr. James GASHUMBA welcomed the Minister, and he stated that TVET is the future of Rwanda and that TVET is a sign that people are targeting the industrial transformation.

During her remarks, Honorable Minister IRERE stated: "Here at IPRC KITABI and in other colleges of Rwanda Polytechnic, you are training the service providers. We need to train a good person who must be a gate for Rwanda in one way or another. We should also touch on that person's attitude in order to create a really good and disciplined graduate, I mean a graduate with Rwandan values. So, apart from the science you give, touch also on the trainees' conscience. Their attitudes out there on the labor market should reflect the image of Rwanda."

Honorable Minister IRERE guaranteed IPRC KITABI advocacy to the challenges that the college is facing principally old and insufficient infrastructures and limited budget.

In his address, Mayor NIYOMWUNGERI said: “Honorable Minister, we are so happy for your visit in our district. Your advice will help us to transform TVET education whether in secondary level or in higher learning here in IPRC KITABI. We will keep working together with the management of IPRC KITABI in order to keep developing TVET for it too to develop our district in the field of Tourism, Forestry and Nature Conservation.”

The Mayor of Nyamagabe district Mr. Hildebrand promised IPRC KITABI a good partnership in all ongoing projects and that the district will work hand in hand with the college to gain potential partners.
